Practice Schedule

Practices are generally ran 5-6 days a week from 5:00-7:00 p.m., depending on the time of season and how competitive you'd like to be. Many of our members are involved in other organizations, hold jobs, and full course loads. For those that are more interested in the social aspect of crew, the occasional missed practice due to school or work is not an issue. For those wishing to be very competitive, it is generally recommended that one miss as few practices as possible.

But I'm too busy for that!

While it's understandable that we as college students feel constantly pressed by our responsibilities to keep our grades up and our wallets full, it all generally comes down to time management. On any given day, think of any of the times where you have sat idle, watching TV or doing nothing. Perhaps with some work, this time could be used to make room for crew in your schedule.

Also, depending on whether there are others with similar schedules, some boats elect to have alternate practice times on some days of the week to allow everyone in the lineup to make it.

A Worthwhile "Inconvenience"

Participating in crew will help you learn time management, and will make much better use of idle time. Instead of building a gut in front of the TV, you will be improving yourself physically and mentally, meanwhile meeting a lot of... interesting people.
